So I went and watched the first here episodes of H&CF last night, and I have to agree with most of what you guys said. Some moments of brilliance, great cast (and criminally wasting Lee Pace at the moment, that guy just cannot catch a break), music choices that aren't horrifically obvious (the Gary Numan needle drop made me smile), fantastic setting, mediocre show. If you tilt your head just so you can pretend the "Joe's a fucking con man" angle is what here going with, but I'm not super confident. This seems like a one/two season wonder that would've been better off as a movie. There's a part of me that wants to see this go full alternate history proto-Gibsonian cyberpunk, but yeah, that's never gonna happen.
